Are Independent Financial branches open during the COVID-19 pandemic?
Yes, please call your local Financial Center before planning your visit. Our banking locations are open and continue to provide full service to our customers through lobby and drive-thru service, but please note that hours may vary. Most lobbies are temporarily operating with reduced hours from 9AM – 12PM (local time). Branches that do not have drive-thru service are accepting appointment-only visits. From time to time, we may temporarily close a Financial Center for deep cleanings to ensure a safe environment for our customers and employees. For these reasons, it’s always a good idea to call ahead when planning a visit.

When will normal hours and operations resume at Independent Financial branch locations?
We continue to proactively monitor the situation, but at present our protocols remain based on guidance from the CDC as well as federal, state and local health and government organizations. Their recommendations will continue to inform and guide our business protocols and plans. We will resume normal operations as soon as possible, but also only when it is safe for our employees and customers.
If my local branch is closed, including the drive-through, how can I access my Independent Financial accounts?
Many of our branch locations offer ATM service. Also, Independent Financial offers a full array of online and mobile banking services which can be accessed from nearly anywhere 24/7. How can I check on the status of my federal stimulus check?
Independent Financial customers may be waiting on their stimulus deposit, or a check, but our branches and customer service operations do not have access to your individual status or when you might expect your deposit. You can, however, visit https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/get-my-payment or the IRS Stimulus Payment page to check your status and obtain additional information. These checks in many cases are deposited directly into your account, so you could also check your balance or account information for recent activity.
How can I deposit a paper check?
You can make deposits to your Independent Financial account by using our online and digital banking applications. Deposits can be made at a branch ATM or anytime from any location using your mobile phone. Deposits are usually posted by next business day, and all mobile deposits are encrypted for your security.
How is Independent Financial helping those impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak?
Independent Financial is aware of the hardships created by this situation, particularly on families facing economic hardships. On April 1, Independent Financial donated $100,000 to support food banks across Texas and Colorado. This donation is expected to provide 355,000 meals.
Has the COVID-19 outbreak affected the strength or stability of my bank?
No. Independent Financial remains strong and financially stable, all accounts fully insured by the FDIC, and we continue to serve both retail and business customers. Our hours and operations may have temporarily changed to enhance safety, but we continue to offer extensive and diversified client services and corporate banking.
Should I be concerned about bank scams or fraud?
Unfortunately, criminals often take advantage of crisis situations. We are especially mindful of the increase in fraud and COVID-19 banking scams and are monitoring emerging risks and advising customers on how to remain vigilant for suspicious activity.
